Have you been wondering what the postal codes for Malawi are?

Has it ever happened where you’re submitting a form online and they request a postal code to submit?

If the answer to any of the two questions is “yes” then you’re not alone.

Many people have been in the same situation. It was tough luck.

In the first place, what is a postal code?

“Well, a postal code is a unique Identifier for an area composed of digits or letters or in some situations in comprises both”

The Postal code system for Malawi has adopted the numeric system. This implies that each area is identified using a series of digits.

The Malawi numerical postal code system uses a series of six digits representing a region, district, and delivery area.

The first black digit represents the regions; South, Centre, or North

The second two digits (in red) represents the district, town, city, or municipality

Lastly, the three last digits (in green) represents location or TA

There was a problem in Malawi. There were no postal codes for Malawi. However, we now have good news worth celebration.

Finally, Malawi has its own postal code system, effective from May 10th, 2019.

The Malawi Communication Regulatory Authority (Macra), recently has announced the introduction of National postal codes.
